I remember you
At the skating rink
You would have been about fourteen
I was nine or ten
All my friends were older than me
It was Thursday nights
They used to play
whatever the chart dance music was
at the time
One of those things
that tries to be cool
for young teens
School disco shit
You know what I mean
There was the Aqua Disco as well
At the swimming pool
Same kind of deal
More fun stoned
Less fun on speed
When I got to that weird time
When I was going to raves
and gigs
and afterparties
And sneaking into the corners
of bars
But I still went to the skating rink
and the Aqua Disco
as well
I would have been thirteen, fourteen
I looked about ten
And I felt like I owned the world
